Family information

I live with my husband and we are both in our 50’s and are active and young at heart.  My husband works for a private school as a Groundsman and works outdoors all year round.  His interests are Cricket, Rugby and playing the guitar. We have a son (2001) and he plays for a football and a cricket team. He likes playing on his PS4 and also walking the dog with his friends. I like to be outdoors so I often walk on the Downs with our dog and my friends. I also cycle for exercise around the local area and along the seafront.  As part of my family you will be welcome to join in these outdoor activities. I also go regularly to a University Gym and swim there once a week and guests are welcome for a small fee. In the summer my husband and son play for a local cricket team which is in a lovely rural setting, so we spend our Saturdays relaxing and watching this traditional English sport.

About the teacher’s accommodation

We live in an area called Old Town. There are some shops and a café 5 minutes walk away and  a large park which has tennis courts and football pitches. The hills and woods for walks are 10 minutes by foot. We have three bedrooms, a kitchen/dining room, a small conservatory and a living room.  We have a large back garden where we grow vegetables and keep two chickens.  We have one bathroom with a power shower and one shared toilet. We heat our house with two wood burner fires and electric radiators. The guest room overlooks the garden and includes a chair, desk, wardrobe and free wifi.

About the local area

Eastbourne is an old Victorian Seaside resort and still has many grand old buildings on the seafront. We also have a pier, a bandstand and a promenade lined with flowers. Along the coast to the west we have the Seven Sister Cliffs and the famous Beachy Head beauty spot. Here you can see the original two lighthouses, one on top of the cliffs and the other in the sea. The country to the East is called ‘1066 Country’ and is the area where William the Conqueror landed from France to take the English throne. I love history and would be proud to tell you our local stories and show you these interesting places.
