About the teacher’s accommodation

Terry lives in a beautiful and historic home in a small village in Warwickshire in central England.

About the local area

Terry lives in Avon Dassett, a small, pretty village with two churches and a pub. The countryside is very attractive and there are many walks in the area in the hills and along the river and canal. The village is about 6 kms from the town of Banbury where there are many shops, tearooms, a cinema and an excellent sports centre.

The university city of Oxford is about 20 minutes away. The university colleges are beautiful buildings and they are open to visits at certain times. There are two excellent museums, the Ashmolean and the Pitt Rivers, as well as many shops, restaurants, pubs, cinemas and theatres.

Leamington Spa is about 25 minutes from Avon Dassett. Leamington is an attractive town with 18th century Georgian architecture. There are some interesting shops, bars, restaurants and pubs.

Warwick Castle is a very impressive building with a long history dating from the 11th century. It is about 25 minutes away.

The train from Banbury to London takes less than one hour, making an excursion to London very easy.
