Welcome to London! Our modern, comfortable home offers the opportunity to learn English in a warm, welcoming environment. Flexible and friendly; we aim to provide a homely break which allows guests the chance to enjoy: traditional home cooked meals, experience the culture and sample the way of life in the UK as they receive teaching in English. I am an enthusiastic teacher of English with a passion for developing people. As well as having an interest in health and diet, I thoroughly enjoy meeting new people and experiencing different cultures.

Family information

I have two adult sons both in their 30s. The eldest is married. The youngest still lives at home and works as a fitness instructor. Passionate about health and fitness, he is a Personal Trainer and enjoys competing in marathons and other runs. In his spare time he enjoys using technology and socialising with friends. Both sons are avid football fans and support Arsenal. They like watching football on TV as well as attending live games. I have a keen interest in health/fitness and food/diet. As a member of the local leisure centre I enjoy participating in a variety of group exercise classes or going to the gym. Visitors are able to participate in activities for a one-off fee. At weekends I enjoy entertaining, going to the cinema/theatre, shopping, watching TV or even bike riding.

About the teacher’s accommodation

Our house is a 5 bedroom semi-detached. It has been modernised and is very spacious. The atmosphere is calm, relaxed, family oriented.
There are two rooms available for guests. The larger student room is equipped with fitted wardrobes with lots of storage, a double bed and a work desk. The smaller room has storage space, dresser and a single bed. A private bathroom for guests is located immediately outside the rooms.
There is a park opposite our house which, as well as offering beautiful scenery, is also a place to sit and relax. The park is well used by children and families.

About the local area

Our neighbourhood is peaceful yet busy. Bustling with students and shoppers in the day but quiet at night. Durant’s Park, located directly opposite our home, provides a picturesque view from the house. The national rail and buses are within easy reach and transport links are good. Buses are frequent and trains regular. Enfield Town is a short bus ride away and boasts the Palace Exchange Shopping Centre which has many well known shops and large choice of restaurants. There are also cinemas and theatres nearby as well as a Training Centre where you can take part in: group exercise classes, gym, golf, swimming and picnicking.
