Ruth has two grown up children who are at university. Stephen is studying maths and Sarah is studying economics. They come home during the vacation.
Ruth enjoys visiting gardens and gardening at home. She walks regularly in the nearby local nature reserve and countryside. She likes to visit historic houses and stately homes. Ruth is also keen on attending art exhibitions.

Ruth lives in a modern house with a garden in the village of Toton.

About the local area

The nearest city is Nottingham. It is a large city with many shops, restaurants, cinemas, an ice rink, a castle, museums, a modern art gallery and a football club. It also has an industrial heritage and there are places to visit commemorating the city’s place in the industrial revolution.

The beautiful countryside of the Derbyshire Peak district is nearby where it is nice to walk and explore pretty villages such as Ashbourne and Castleton.

There are a number of stately homes within easy reach, including Chatsworth, Hardwick and Haddon, whilst there are castles at Belvoir and Newark. Nottingham is less than 20 minutes by car or 10 minutes by train from the nearest station which is 4 kms away.

Sherwood Forest, famous in history for being the home of Robin Hood, is a place for walking and cycling.
