Before she became a English home stay teacher, Roz enjoyed a career in a state school, teaching English and Drama at Secondary level. She has also taught students of many different ages and nationalities and still teaches at a summer school in France.

Roz lives with her husband Tom, who is also a teacher. They have a cat.
Roz’s many interests include theatre, cinema and reading but her main passion is gardening and cooking. Roz grows many of her own vegetables so you can look forward to some enjoyable home cooked food fresh from the garden.

About the teacher’s accommodation

Roz lives with her husband in a very comfortable detached Victorian cottage in a village near Horsham. The cottage itself has a very interesting history. It also has a pleasant garden. The student room in their home is nicely furnished.

About the local area

The village has shops and several cafes and other places to eat including Indian, Chinese and Italian restaurants.
There are direct train services to London Victoria which take approximately 70 minutes.

Excursions available with this teacher

Wine Tasting – A half day excursion to a local vineyard with award winning wines. The trip includes a tour of the vines at the foot of the south downs in beautiful countryside followed by a wine tasting experience in a windmill.

St Botolphs Church – A visit to an historic church with rare eleventh century wall paintings depicting biblical stories.

Bignor Roman Villa – A visit to the well preserved remains of a roman villa featuring a number of wonderful mosaics, some of which are housed in listed Georgian farmhouse buildings. The remains of the bath house are also on site.

A whole day in Chichester – A visit to the historic city of Chichester featuring the cathedral with its interesting artefacts and beautiful gardens. There will be time for shopping and a visit to the new museum and/or an art gallery.

Farmers’ Market – A visit to a farmers’ market in an historic village or market town and/or a visit to farm shops where all produce and crafts are local.
