 Family information

I share my house with another lovely couple called Andy and Sharon. They are in their early fifties and lead a local church. We also have a lodger called Nicci who is in her early twenties, she is an award winning barista. We enjoy a happy home and take turns to cook, eating together every day. We have lots of friends nearby. Andy and Sharon love to play scrabble and I hardly ever beat them.

I especially enjoy travelling and have lived in Asia for eight years. I only have Korea, Philippines and Myanmar left to get to and then I will have visited all the countries in SE Asia. At home I have a variety of interests and love to be outdoors. I particularly enjoy gardening, wildlife and photography. I love walking on the beach or in the countryside. More recently I have started bread making and enjoy cooking.

About the teacher’s accommodation

My house is on a quiet road just next to the large Wythenshawe Park in South Manchester. We are within walking distance from a small retail park which has a large superstore. The guest accommodation is in a downstairs annex and consists of a double bedroom with an attached shower room. We have a large dining kitchen, a sitting room and a conservatory overlooking the garden.

About the local area

Manchester is a wonderful city, full of art galleries, museums, theatres, shops, international food and of course football teams. It is just 20 minutes by tram from my home to the city centre. We have a number of beautiful national trust properties close by including Styal Mill which has a working weaving museum; Tatton Park and Chatsworth House. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Lake District or Snowdonia National Park in a day trip and if you prefer to visit London we are just 2 hours away by train.
