About
Pauline R

My husband Trevor and I welcome students from all over the world to come and learn English in our Oxfordshire home. We obtain great satisfaction from seeing students progress and develop in their studies here. We live in a 16th century house in an Oxfordshire village with very good connections to Oxford, London and all major airports. Trevor and I both have  wide interests, generally in culture, history, heritage, and travel. We would be delighted to share our knowledge of Oxford in particular and Britain with you.

Family information

I live with my husband Trevor, a very skilled engineer who has worked abroad and all over the UK with his work. I have a son and daughter in their 30’s, both work in the arts sector in London. They periodically visit us in Oxford. Trevor and I have a wide interest in music. I have been learning blues piano for many years and I look forward to sharing my music appreciation with other people. Both Trevor and I take a keen interest in gardening, growing vegetables and flowers throughout the year. Oxfordshire and Britain generally has many brilliant historical houses, gardens and sites of special interest, we would be happy to take students to places, advise and share our enthusiasm.

About the teacher’s accommodation

We live in one of the oldest buildings in the middle of a friendly village, once surrounded by woodland. Each student has their own room with study desk, a double bed and access to a private shower/bathroom and toilet. The property is quiet. We eat a variety of food which is freshly cooked each day.

About the local area

Our house is set in an Oxfordshire village surrounded by beautiful countryside. There is horse riding locally, walking, a wildlife park and sports facilities. We are also very close to the centre of Oxford that attracts visitors from all over the world throughout the year as well as being a very lively and busy student city. Oxford has a world class reputation with numerous important, historical buildings. It has all the main ‘lifestyle’ shopping outlets and cultural amenities one would expect from such a popular place to visit.
