Family information

I live alone with my little cat, Polly. I am a keen cyclist and try to do several rides per week in the Surrey countryside. I also enjoy reading and writing (short stories and flash fiction), and love going out for a glass of wine and to restaurants. I’d love to take my students to local cafes, bars and restaurants as there are so many great ones nearby. I’m pretty obsessed with cats too and have a young tabby, Polly, who’s very sweet and friendly.

About the teacher’s accommodation

I live in a large Victorian split-level conversion flat. The bathroom is shared. As it’s on the top floor, it is very safe and the street on which I live is extremely quiet. Although my flat is only a few minutes from Streatham High Road, it is also very near Streatham and Tooting Bec Commons, which are perfect for walks and runs.

About the local area

Streatham is a fantastic place to live in that it’s surrounded by green space. It has two commons nearby, one of which has the largest lido in Europe (93 metres), which is lovely in the summer. There’s a swimming pool and leisure centre five minutes from my flat and the Odeon Cinema is a ten minute walk away. There’s also a plethora of cafes, bars shops and restaurants nearby. Streatham is conveniently located for Central London as it’s about 30 minutes to Victoria by train and 20 minutes to London Bridge. It’s also about 15 by bus to Brixton, which is one of the coolest parts of London at the moment, with its village, bars and restaurants.
