Margaret lives with her husband, Patrick. Patrick is a systems engineer in the oil industry. He is a very enthusiastic musician and song writer who often plays in gigs locally. The music is folk and blues. They have three grown up children. Margaret and Patrick have one grandchild.

Margaret listens to classical music and opera. She likes to keep fit by swimming, Nordic walking, yoga, cycling and walking. Margaret goes to the cinema and theatre regularly. She takes lessons to improve her French.

About the local area

Margaret lives in the attractive town of Hertford, north of London. Hertford is less than one hour from London on by train. The station is five minutes walk from the house making a day trip to London very easy. Hertford has many shops, restaurants, pubs, tearooms, a park and a leisure centre. The town centre is five minutes walk from the house. Musically, there are concerts in Hertford, Cambridge and London and the Henry Moore Sculpture park is close by in a village called Perry Green. The local countryside is very beautiful and there are stately homes and historic houses to visit, such as Hatfield House. The city of Cambridge is about hour away where it is possible to visit the university colleges, art galleries and walk along the river Cam.


Excursions available with this teacher

Local walk along the River Lee towpath – A pleasant walk with plenty of wildlife to observe along the way, finishing off with afternoon tea when we return to town.

Nordic walking experience – A guided walk of one hour and a half in the Hertfordshire countryside, usually finishing at a village tearoom or a village pub.
