About the local area

Bristol is a lively and vibrant city in the south west of England and there are direct flights from many cities in Europe. It is smaller and more friendly than London, with two universities, which means it is a diverse and energetic place. You will find that there are plenty of interesting and exciting things to do.
Most locations are an easy walk from Lucy’s centrally located home. Bristol is famous for its Georgian architecture, its harbour area and attractive riverside walks as well as its modern business centre. The beautiful Clifton Suspension Bridge is the emblem of the city and you will find the symbol of the bridge everywhere.
The city is famous for its live music and summer festivals such as the Bristol Harbour Festival, the Bristol Balloon Fiesta and the Bristol Kite Festival and has a lot of excellent, and often free, live music in pubs and the squares. There are many cafés and restaurants which offer a high standard of excellent food as well as several museums, theatres and art galleries.
