About
Louise B

I am a eacher with a great passion for teaching. I find it extremely rewarding and satisfying. Having travelled extensively, I have empathy with my students and understand what it is like to learn a new language. I enjoy sharing my home with students and spending time with them. Before I became a home stay teacher, I taught English at a language school in London; and lived in Dubai where I worked for an airline.

About the teacher’s accommodation

I live on a farm near the village of Priors Marston in the county of Warwickshire in central England. My home is a large, converted barn which has five bedrooms. It is situated in beautiful countryside amidst woods and lakes. My husband’s family live very close by in their own home. Prior Marston is a pretty village with a pub, a school and a shop with a post office. There is a country club a few minutes away by car which has a swimming pool, golf course, gym and a bowling alley. You can catch a bus to nearby towns such as Leamington Spa, Southam and Rugby. It is is a friendly village and I know many people so you will have many opportunities to practise your English.

About the local area

Leamington has attractive architecture, good shops and many cultural activities. Southam is small town with a weekly market and interesting shops. Stratford-upon-Avon is the birthplace of the William Shakespeare, and it has a number of places of historical interest to visit. Enjoy a scenic walk along the river or stop for something to eat at one of the many eating places. If you like castles, you must visit Warwick castle, which is over 1,100 years old. There is much to do and explore, including the dungeons and the gardens. Oxford is another interesting excursion. The university, dating from the 11th century, is one of the most prestigious in the world. You can tour the colleges, many built in Gothic style, and visit Christ Church hall – a location in the Harry Potter films. The nearby beautiful Cotswolds has some of the most scenic landscape in England with picturesque towns and villages where you will find interesting shops and tearooms. London is readily accessible by train for a day trip to see all the sights and attractions.
