Academic information


I am a teacher with a degree in Education. I taught in primary schools before I became a home tutor. I have been hosting and teaching students for over 10 years and thoroughly enjoy it.

I live with my husband Martin who is a Financial Manager and works in London. I have one daughter Alice who is 21 and is at university studying History. I have a cat Emma who is very friendly and loves all the students.

I enjoy running and cycling along our beautiful seafront. I enjoy going to the cinema and we also have a theatre at the end of our road.

About the teacher’s accommodation


I live in a large Victorian house in the centre of Southsea. You could have a large double bedroom or a cosy attic bedroom. I live close to the seafront and there is a theatre at the end of my road. I am also close to shops and cafes.

About the local area


There is a lot to do in Southsea including swimming, skateboarding, tennis, golf and sailing.

Excursions you can take with your teacher

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard – Visit the Action Stations where there are lots of exciting things to go on.

Gunwharf – Go up the Spinnaker Tower and take in the views over Portsmouth and walk across the glass floor and look down if you dare! Have a walk along the quay and watch the boats coming in.

Portsmouth City museum – Visit the exhibitions at the museum which are based on the history of Portsmouth. There are interactive activities to do and quizzes.

Family fun day – Choose from swimming, cinema or bowling.

Seafront – Walk along the seafront and visit the funfair where there are rides to go on and you can have an ice-cream.
