Central England

Jane H

I am a teacher who teaches both general and business English. I find one to one teaching very rewarding because I can concentrate on the specific needs of my students. I am a sociable person who is interested in people and other cultures. Before I became an English teacher, I had a career in business development in the healthcare industry, working with corporate clients and building a client portfolio. I have also been a dance and aerobic teacher.

About the teacher’s accommodation

I live in New Maldon, a suburb of south west London. My home is a three bedroom house located on a residential road. There is a garden. My home is located within walking distance of New Maldon High Street where there are shops, restaurants and pubs. It is a five minute walk to the nearest railway station (New Maldon) where you can catch a train to central London.

About the local area

It is a 10 minute walk to the nearest park where you can walk or run and use the leisure facilities. Kingston upon Thames is a 10 minute bus ride away. It has great shopping and range of entertainments. There are a number of other attractive towns located on the River Thames, such as Richmond, which are nice for exploring and stopping for a drink. If you like tennis, you can go to nearby Wimbledon. The museum is open all year round and the High Street has nice shops, bars and coffee shops. Hampton Court Palace is great place to visit if you like history. Dating from the 16th century, it was once a palace of the kings of England. Things to see include the chocolate kitchens, the gardens and maze and a 17th century tennis court. The location of my home means it is very easy to travel into central London to see the attractions such as the London Eye, the Tower of London, the National Art Gallery, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey.
