Jacob T

Hello, my name is Jacob and I live in the beautiful town of Wareham in Dorset with my partner Kasia and our son Max.

For the past few years we have been travelling around Asia, Europe and North America. We have taught English to students in Thailand, Germany and the UK. We both love teaching very much, both to young learners and adults. Now we live back in Wareham, which is in The Purbecks. Purbeck in Dorset is an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a World Heritage Site. Bournemouth is 20 minutes away, and was voted having the second best beach in Europe as well as having the most amount of sunshine per year in all of the UK!

Family information

Kasia has many interests which keep us busy. We enjoy cooking, walking, spending time in nature, reading, having interesting discussions, socialising with friends and family and sports (Formula 1, tennis, swimming, badminton etc.) Kasia has strong connections with her family, some of whom live in our town. We often look after our nieces (both under 6), playing and teaching them to help them to learn and grow. I have a huge passion for learning. I enjoy not only academic subjects, but literally everything! I spend a lot of time researching, reading, discussing and reflecting on many different disciplines, including: science, philosophy, Earth history, politics, exo-politics, metaphysics, spirituality, religion, war, the universe, natural sciences, esotericism and ancient technology. These are just some of my interests, there are many more. I would love to spend time with any interested students to discuss these subjects, and others too.

About the teacher’s accommodation

We live in a large apartment. We have three bedrooms, one bathroom, a very large lounge and classroom area, and a kitchen. We have recently been re-decorated, so it is warm, comfortable and light. We have two rooms available for students. One room has a double bed (for a single or couple) and the second room has two single beds. They are fully furnished rooms with 24 hour access to high speed broadband. The bathroom is shared. Wareham has around 6000 residents. We have shops, cafes, bars and pubs. It has a lovely quiet feel of traditional English culture, whilst being only 25 minutes away from Bournemouth. We enjoy wonderful countryside whilst still being close to major towns and cities.

About the local area

We have beautiful beaches, amazing forests, lakes, rivers, stunning rolling hills and countryside and wonderful landscape. We often go for walks, hikes and drives into nature. We have a fantastic sports centre in the town where you can enjoy activities such as swimming, tennis, badminton, squash, basketball, table tennis, gymnasium, sauna and massages. Bournemouth (20 minutes by train) is beautiful, full of lovely green trees and parks, as well as a stunning 10km long sandy beach. Bournemouth has good shopping, restaurants, cafes, bars and entertainment. There is always something to do there, even live music and comedy shows! Tower Park is an entertainment complex close-by with a large cinema, Splashdown Water Park, ten-pin bowling, pool and various restaurants. We are not far from cities such as London, Oxford, Bath, Brighton, Southampton, Portsmouth, Winchester and Salisbury. We will certainly visit some of these places during your stay.
