Hello, my name is Jackie and I am 54 years old. I have lived in Portsmouth for 20 years and enjoy the activity of town life here.
I have been a science teacher for 14 years and have also enjoyed hosting many foreign students in my home over the years.
I love listening to the stories in your lives and increasing your confidence with the English language. I am very patient and friendly and I will always make time for any help you might need.
My family and home are welcoming and my daughters and son are always happy to give you extra speaking practice to help you.

 Family information

I have four children, two boys and two girls.
My oldest son Sam (1986) is an electrical engineer and is married, they visit regularly, he has a great sense of humour.
Jake (1987) has moved back home for a short time and is attempting to become a writer, he is a good researcher.
My two youngest daughters Izzy (1997) and Chloe (1998) live at home and are finishing college this year. Izzy has a part time job in a gaming shop and is very social. Chloe plays the guitar and studies science alongside her hobby of digital art.
We have two cats called Tom and Mouse, they are friendly but love to hide.

One of my hobbies is dressmaking and quilting, I use the sewing machine regularly.
I love country walks in the beautiful English countryside, and like to have company, if you want to join in.
I decorate and repair things at home myself and have installed a new kitchen which luckily is still working fine.
I like to keep fit, you could join me in an exercise class if you would like.
I love to cook and try out new things, I am good at lasagne but my children don’t like the lemon curd I have just made (a type of jam).
I research on science topics to keep up to date for teaching.
