About the teacher’s accommodation

I live in a lovingly converted barn with a garden, surrounded by  fields  in the small village of Tredington on the edge of the Cotswolds.  I live not far from the beautiful town of Cheltenham.  It is a busy and attractive town with great shops, cinemas, theatres with excellent restaurants and a range of sporting facilities.

About the local area

Tredington is not far from the Cotswolds.  There are picturesque towns and villages to be found amidst the rolling countryside which is regarded as some of the most scenic in England.  The Cotswold Wild Life Park, Bird Land, The Classic Car Museum, The Cotswold Farm Park, Bourton Model Railway Exhibition and Toy Shop, The Crocodiles Of The World Zoo  and The Gifford Human Circus are some of the fun places to visit in the Cotswolds.

Tewkesbury, an ancient town is very close and has a fascinating and innovative heritage centre housing numerous sensory and interactive delights for everyone.  Stratford Upon Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare is 45 minutes away.  Popular activities include town and ghost walks.

Oxford about an hour away is a vibrant, historical city with excellent museums and galleries including the Ashmolean and Pitts River.  Very interesting bus and walking tours of the city bring Oxford to life.  You can visit Christ Church Hall which was a location in the Harry Potter films. Blenheim Palace dating from the 18th Century is a world heritage site and is 45 minutes away.

The ancient city of Gloucester is nearby and it is worth visiting to see the historical cathedral.  The old docks area has been redeveloped and now includes canal and boat trips.  Steam trains on the Heritage Line in the Cotswolds offer a fun ride.  The city of Bath one hour away, is known for its 18th Century architecture, Roman remains and association with the author Jane Austen.
