About the local area

Oxford is a lively city with lots to see and do all year round. My home is a short bus drive from the city centre. The city is famous for its prestigious university with its Gothic architecture which you can explore. There are excellent museums, art galleries and a number of places of historical interest, such as Carfax Tower; the castle; the Sheldonian Theatre; and the Radcliffe Camera. You can enjoy large green spaces by cycling or walking along the river or going for a cruise. There are many good eating places and interesting pubs such as The Eagle and Child where JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis used to enjoy a drink. Culturally, there are theatres and cinemas as well as a vibrant music scene to suit all tastes. If you would like a trip to London, to see all the sights and attractions, Oxford is ideally located.
