I am a teacher of English language. I find home stay teaching very rewarding because it combines using my skills as a teacher with meeting such interesting people from around the world. I am very welcoming and soon students feel very much at home. I had a long career working in international drug development with roles in clinical trials, drug registration and medical communications before I became an English teacher. I was also involved in teaching on technical training courses.

About the teacher’s accommodation

I live in an attractive semi detached home in a quiet residential street. There is a garden.

About the local area

I live in the suburb of Teddington in south west London. It is a very nice area of London, located near the River Thames, with good shops and restaurants. Teddington High Street is a six minute walk from the house. There are two large royal parks close by, Bushy and Kew Gardens. Amongst the interesting, historical places to visit locally are Strawberry Hill House, Syon House, Ham House and Hampton Court Palace. The town of Richmond is a short bus or train ride away. Richmond is a very pretty place with pubs located on the river and nice shops and restaurants. The nearest big shopping centre is Kingston upon Thames which is also a short bus or train journey. The nearest train station is Teddington, a 12 minute walk from the house. Trains to central London go to Waterloo station and take about 35 minutes, making excursions to see the sights of the capital very convenient.
