Family information

Matt, my husband, who is in his 20s loves reading books and the newspaper, watching comedy, playing board games and cycling. He is a Primary school teacher. We have one daughter (born in 2016) and she loves exploring, crawling, dancing and eating satsumas. We live 2 minutes away from my sister’s house. My sister is called Laura and her husband is called Jorge. They have three children aged 3, 6 and 12. I look after the children for 2 hours each week at my house. They love to go to the park after school and play hide and seek in the house. I love cooking and baking and have lots of recipe books. You can look forward to lots of fresh cooking and baking at my house! I also love to read adventure, romance or historical books. We have lots of books at our house on the bookshelves. I will often play piano in the afternoon and evening. I love to play pop/rock songs and songs from musicals like Les Miserables. In the evening, me and my husband love to play board games and watch comedy shows or American series like Modern Family or Grey’s Anatomy. I also love to watch period dramas like Pride and Prejudice. You can join us!

About the teacher’s accommodation

Our home is a three-storey town house 20 minutes walk from the centre of Witney. It is a 5 minute walk from local shops and a 3 minute walk from the local playground and schools. Our home has a kitchen, WC and living area downstairs, our bedrooms and bathroom on the middle floor and a guest area on the top floor. Your accommodation is completely private on the top floor with en-suite bathroom. It is a large double bedroom with plenty of space and a chest of drawers, cupboard and wardrobe to yourself.

About the local area

We live just over 1km from Witney, a market town in Oxfordshire. It has lots of shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants and green spaces. Everyday, I usually walk into Witney to go shopping or to a tea shop.
There is a cinema, leisure centre with a swimming pool and parks with tennis courts and mini golf.
Witney has lots of countryside and small, pretty villages around it. There are walks by ruins and lots of riverside walks. Witney is very close to an area called The Cotswolds, which is famous for beautiful English villages and afternoon tea. Just 15 minutes away by car is Blenheim Palace which is a beautiful palace with a huge walk around a lake. It is very impressive! 25 minutes away is the city of Oxford. It has many museums, cinemas, bars, pubs, shops and of course the university buildings. You can also go rowing or punting on the river.
