About
Catherine L

My name is Catherine, Cathy for short. I have hosted for many years, while my children were young. I live near Worthing in a lovely convenient position near the village shops/amenities and close to the town/beach. It is approximately a mile away (walking distance) and the train station is a 15 minute-walk with trains to Brighton and London.

Academic information

I have hosted for many years, teaching since 2005 at various Summer Schools.  I have a  Trinity College London CertTESOL Level 5 teaching Certificate which is internationally recognised.  This year I taught in Italy for a week, which was a wonderful experience.

I like teaching beyond phones, tablets and computers, bringing out their own ideas and creative qualities, which I believe we all have and strive to keep alive.

About the teacher’s accommodation

I live in a two double bed roomed flat with my own front door, 7 minutes walk to Broadwater shops and 20 mins walk into Worthing town.  It has a shared bathroom with bath/shower.

About the local area

There is a swimming pool in Worthing town  and a tennis club in Ferring as mentioned above which I go by car to.  There is Broadwater Manor ground which is immediately opposite, where one can run around a running track for free  and watch Cricket matches, if that is their interest. There is a bowling alley, two cinemas and two theatres in the centre of Worthing.  There is a museum in Worthing and Chichester is a lovely place to visit for its Cathedral/shops and The Weald and Downland Open Air Museum is not far from there which incorporates historical houses and special events which occur throughout the year.  Brighton boasts a beautiful historical  Palace (the Royal Pavilion) the lanes and the Pier.
