About
Barbara Fr

Hello, my name is Barbara and I live with my husband in the historic market town, Ware in Hertfordshire, about 25 miles North of the centre of London. I have taught in Primary Schools for 34 years, as a Full time/Part-time class teacher. My husband and I love walking in the local countryside and look after friends pets occasionally so we are a dog/cat friendly house. London and Cambridge are easily accessed so we regularly have day-trips to both cities, as well as local places of interest. We look forward to welcoming you into our home and can offer a cheerful, relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

About the teacher’s accommodation

Our 3 storey town house is on the outskirts of Ware. The 3 double bedrooms are light and spacious, two of which are available to students. There are two bathrooms, a top floor shower room and a family bathroom on the middle floor. There are two bedrooms on the top floor, one bedroom next to a tv and sitting room. On the ground floor there is a kitchen and study/dining room/sitting area leading onto a small, well kept back garden. It is possible to walk into Ware and catch a train into London Liverpool Street station.

About the local area

Since moving to Ware 3 years ago we have really enjoyed exploring our local area. The immediate town has a predominantly 16th century High Street with a useful selection of shops a wide range of cafes and pubs. There is a museum plotting the development of Ware from a beer brewing centre to more of a commuter town these days. A delightful walk along the riverside into Hertford, takes in canal boats and nature reserves. Hatfield House, where Elizabeth 1st spent her childhood, is a few miles away and is well worth a visit. Welwyn Garden City and St. Albans, with its Cathedral and Roman history, offer a good range of shops while the art galleries, museums and tourist attractions of London and Cambridge are an hour away by train or car. There are local sports clubs offering a wide range of activities including swimming.
