About
Ann-Marie B

Hello and a very warm welcome. My name is Ann-Marie and I live here on the beautiful South Coast of England with my husband and our fun little daughter (born 2005).
I have been teaching since 2008 and hosting and teaching English language students in our home since 2013. I believe that every person that visits us brings something of themselves to our family home.
I love music, travel, teaching, learning and culture. My husband enjoys history, astronomy, gardening and going out. Our daughter just loves having fun! She is very sporty and enjoys playing games on her computer. We have a 3 bed house with a nice garden in a quiet road with excellent transport to Brighton (20 mins), Eastbourne and London which is 1 hour by train..

 Family information

My husband and I are in our late 40s. We like living near the country because the air is cleaner and we can relax. We have very friendly neighbours in our street. We also have parents who visit from time to time. We like to walk and drive to local historic sites and parks. However there are so many interesting places to visit in the South Downs that there will be plenty for us to do on your arrival. Besides walks, tourist attractions, shopping centres, the cinema and historic properties, we also like to go to the pub sometimes and listen to music as we watch the ferry come in from France. We also like just sitting, reading, watching TV at home.

About the teacher’s accommodation

We have a single room and a twin room, (in pictures), available for you both with sea views. We have a lounge dining room which leads to a pretty garden and children’s games. It takes 5-10 mins to walk to the lovely park or the town centre. The bus is 5 mins walk away and there are buses along the coast every 15 mins. We have one bathroom.

About the local area

Brighton is a short bus ride, train ride or drive away. There are many things to see there including the pier, the marina and the old shopping laines. Eastbourne too has a lovely walk along the beach with cafes to stop at along the way. There are many historic and art museums in both towns. Historic Lewes is 10 mins away by train with its castle and river through the shopping centre along with the old ruins of the priory. In Newhaven itself, we have a lovely walk to the beach, wonderful cliffs with fantastic views from the fort. Also there are many children’s activities this summer including cricket, football, swimming, tennis, etc. There are many historic houses and parks we can visit on our full day excursion.
