Angela is a teacher of English as a foreign language. She enjoys being a home stay teacher because she meets such interesting people from all over the world. Angela plans lessons in a structured way so that they focus on the specific goals of each student whilst making sure that they are stimulating and interesting. Before she became an English teacher, Angela was a secondary school teacher. French was one of the subjects she taught.

Angela has the TrinityTESOL qualification to teach English as a foreign language. She is a secondary French teacher (Cert Ed.). She has a degree in French.

Angela is married to Robin. Angela and Robin have a grown up son and three grown up daughters who have left home but sometimes visit. They have four grandsons and one granddaughter, and they enjoy travelling to visit their children and grandchildren who live abroad and also friends who live abroad. Angela loves music. She is a member of a local choral music society and they give concerts three times a year. Angela enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, walking, swimming and table tennis.

Angela lives in a detached house on the edge of the village of Finstock in Oxfordshire. There is a garden.

About the local area


Finstock is a small village in Oxfordshire. It has a shop and a pub. Finstock is located just outside the town of Charlbury (3 kms). It is a small and pretty town built in the local stone of the Cotswolds area. It has a supermarket and some shops and pubs. There is train to the city of Oxford (20 minutes) which is an ideal place for an excursion. There are museums, art galleries, theatres and cinemas as well as shops and restaurants. The colleges of the historic university, with their handsome architecture, are often open to the public. It is nice to take a walk along the river or to hire a boat. The world heritage site of Blenheim Palace is very close by in the attractive town of Woodstock. The palace was built in the 18th century and has an enormous park and garden. There is a bus to the town of Witney. Witney has all modern amenities including a shopping centre, a cinema and a leisure centre.

Visit Burford – Explore Burford, known as the Gateway to the Cotswolds. Visit the beautiful church, walk up and down the picturesque High Street, have lunch or afternoon tea, explore an antiques shop. Drive back through picturesque countryside.
