Why take a one to one IELTS course?

Learning IELTS one to one will allow you to concentrate on those areas of the exam that you find most difficult. Your teacher will help you identify your weakest areas and provide lessons, support and learning tasks to help you improve quickly.

On a 20 hour per week study programme, your mornings will consist of a 1- 1 learning programme with your teacher. In the afternoons you will have time to review your morning study and practise using test papers. Your teacher will mark and review these papers with you the following day.

Homelingua Home Tuition is a unique total learning environment. You are absorbed in English from the moment you arrive to the home of your teacher until the moment you leave.

This sounds hard work, and it is, but it is not all work. You will have plenty of opportunity to integrate and join in with the day to day life of your teacher and their family.

Your teacher will aim to create a highly effective but also enjoyable and positve learning environment.

  • You will need to have an Upper Intermediate (CEF B1) or Advanced (CEF C1) level.
  • A mock IELTS test is carried out under exam conditions with individual feedback on performance.

What is IELTS?

IELTS is the International English Language Testing System. IELTS measures true to life ability to communicate in English, and is recognised by UK Universities for university entrance.

The objective of the course is to give training in the skills and techniques you will need to enable you to sit the IELTS exam with confidence.

The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) test provides an evaluation of English for those who wish to study or train in English. It is very similar to the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) required by North American universities and colleges. IELTS is a jointly managed test by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations, British Council and IDP Education Australia. The test is accepted by many professional organizations in Australia and New Zealand including: the New Zealand Immigration Service, the Australian Department of Immigration. If you are interested in studying and / or training in Australia or New Zealand, this is the test best adapted to your qualification needs.
