Pamela is a qualified and experienced teacher of English who has been teaching one-to-one and groups for over 15 years.  Pamela enjoyed a career working for a national charity before retraining to become a teacher of English as a Foreign Language.  She now combines teaching English at home with working as a Residential Carer and Companion.  Pamela teaches courses in General English with and without Culture, of Young and Senior Learners and Business and Professional courses.

Pamela lives in a comfortable, modern terraced home in the town of Royal Leamington Spa.  There is a garden for students to relax in when the weather is nice.  Pamela's two grown up daughters live in Oxford and sometimes visit at the weekend.  Her mother and sisters live nearby, and all welcome Pamela's student's into their home during their stay.

The student's room in Pamela's home is comfortable and well-furnished and provides a space where students can go for quiet and privacy at any time.

Pamela draws on her wide experience in English home tuition to design an individual English language course for each of her students, with intensive work on the specific language areas they have identified as most important to them. This targeted approach is very effective as the course can be set at precisely the correct level and rapid progress can be achieved during the one-to-one home tuition sessions.

A Homelingua course is also much more than just a language course: it is a total immersion course. In addition to receiving intensive one-to-one tuition, students are integrated into the daily life of Pamela and her family, including, for instance, sharing family meals, visiting friends, shopping or participating in various outings. This exposure to natural, everyday English is a unique feature of the Homelingua experience and students often find that it dramatically improves both their language skills and their confidence in communicating in English. It also offers a warm and in-depth experience of the British way of life.
