Tutor ref# SMI002
As well as being an English teacher Marion is an accountant and a property investor. Marion enjoys welcoming students to her home and has hosted for many years.
Marion enjoys horse riding, reading, cooking and keeping fit. She lives in her cottage near Edinburgh. Central Edinburgh is only 15 minutes from Marion's house.
Sarah prepares an individual one-to-one homestay English course for each student, which focuses on practising the language areas they are most keen to develop. Whether students want to improve their speaking, listening, reading or writing skills, or to concentrate on business English, general conversation skills or cultural discussions, Sarah provides a series of intensive lessons which will maximise progress in those areas in the time available.
A Homelingua course is also much more than just a language course: it is a total immersion course. In addition to receiving intensive one-to-one tuition, students are integrated into the daily life of Sarah and her family, including, for instance, sharing family meals, visiting friends, shopping or participating in various outings. This exposure to natural, everyday English is a unique feature of the Homelingua experience and students often find that it dramatically improves both their language skills and their confidence in communicating in English. It also offers a warm and in-depth experience of the British way of life.
Marion's particular expertise is Business English.
Marion has a cat which usually lives outside the house.
Message from the teacher
I am a young-minded, well-travelled lady who loves meeting people from different cultures. I have been hosting students for over 20 years. I have a degree in Business Studies and also do accounts. I love cooking so we will have long dinners in the conservatory while practising conversational English.
It is so peaceful to study here but if you want to go into the city centre it is not a problem.
