Louise is an experienced teacher and lives with her husband and two young children in a village just outside of Oxford. Louise is experience at teaching young learners age 11-18 and has taught students from many different countries and at different levels. Louise is also an experienced teacher of Cambridge Advanced and Proficiency examinations (Louise is a Cambridge examinations examiner). Louise also teaches BEC (Business English certificate).
The family enjoy travelling and are always happy to learn about different cultures and like to meet new students. Louise lives with her husband David and two young children (Lily born 2002 and Rosie born 2006).
Louise prepares an individual one-to-one course for each student, which focuses on practising the language areas they are most keen to develop. Whether students want to improve their speaking, listening, reading or writing skills, or to concentrate on business English, general conversation skills or cultural discussions, Louise provides a series of intensive lessons which will maximise progress in those areas in the time available.
The Homelingua experience also offers much more than an intensive one-to-one language course. It embodies the belief that total immersion in the language is the ideal way for a student to develop their skills. Living in Louise’s home and sharing daily activities such as meals, shopping, trips to London, meeting friends and so on, students are exposed to the everyday English which occurs naturally in a range of typical situations. The result is often a dramatic improvement in students’ confidence and their ability to communicate by the end of the course.
Louise and David live in a beautiful 3 bedroom detached house with a garden where the family can relax. It is a traditional English house and is attractively decorated. The student's room is spacious and has a TV and DVD and a large selection of English books suitable for students of all levels. In the village there are some shops, a library and pubs. The house is ideally placed as it's situated in a semi rural location with easy access to Oxford.
Louise and David live in the village of Benson, situated in an attractive part of Oxfordshire. There are regular buses from Benson to Oxford and Reading. Oxford is famous for its university.
Didcot railway station. You can take direct trains from London to Dicot. If you are travelling by bus, you can take a coach from Heathrow or Gatwick to Oxford. Louise can meet you in Didcot or Oxford
