Lindy is trained as a linguist and as a teacher of English. She has taught English to students in group situations as well as one-to-one, but in recent years has especially enjoyed teaching and hosting students in her home.
Lindy teaches many kinds of courses including, Business English and Exam Preparation. She will be pleased to design a course around what you need to learn whether it is conversation and fluency skills or academic writing or presentation skills.
She is interested in poetry, current affairs, cooking, walking and classical music.
Lindy lives with her husband. Lindy is in her fifties. They also have a friendly dog and puppy.
Lindy's house is beautifully kept, spacious and has a large garden. There are four bedrooms, living room, dining room and kitchen. The study area is in a bright patio adjoining the living room. The student's room is comfortable with a nice view of the garden. An optional private bathroom is available on request.
Oxford is a historical city world famous for its university and ancient colleges. Just 1.5 hours from London with a regular train and bus service, Oxford is an ideal location for a short stay in England.
Oxford has a wonderful collection of old buildings and the streets are full of students. It has a mix of large and small shops and plenty of cafes and bars. It is an international city and you will see people from all over the world.
In addition there are beautiful parks and its two rivers: the Thames and the Cherwell. In summer it is lovely to spend an afternoon punting on the river. Oxford also has a fine selection of museums that can keep you fascinated for days.
The nearest mainline train station is Oxford. There are regular rail services between London Paddington station and Oxford. There is a 24 hour direct bus service between Oxford and London and Oxford and Heathrow airport.
