Tutor ref# ROB001
Anne is a qualified teacher of languages and an experienced teacher of English as a foreign language. Anne and William (Bill) live in Edinburgh. She has taught at many different levels and to many different nationalities. In her free time she enjoys reading, walking and travelling.
Anne has a Masters degree in modern languages.
Anne draws on her wide experience in English home tuition to design an individual English language course for each of her students, with intensive work on the specific language areas they have identified as most important to them. This targeted approach is very effective as the course can be set at precisely the correct level and rapid progress can be achieved during the one-to-one home tuition sessions.
Anne’s students follow a specially designed one-to-one homestay English course which focuses on the language areas which are most important to them, such as speaking and listening, writing, grammar, the language of business English, and so on. By working intensively on these target areas, students make rapid progress in their English language learning during their stay.
A Homelingua course is also much more than just a language course: it is a total immersion course. In addition to receiving intensive one-to-one tuition, students are integrated into the daily life of Anne and her family, including, for instance, sharing family meals, visiting friends, shopping or participating in various outings. This exposure to natural, everyday English is a unique feature of the Homelingua experience and students often find that it dramatically improves both their language skills and their confidence in communicating in English. It also offers a warm and in-depth experience of the British way of life.
