Wendy C

Wendy is an experienced and qualified tutor of English on a one-to-one basis.  She has enjoyed a career as a qualified RGN Nurse before retraining to become a teacher.  Wendy specialises in teaching English one-to-one in her home but also has experience of teaching two-to-one both with students of different nationalities and members of the same family.  Wendy combines home tuition with “hosting French students” for the local language school.

Hobbies and interests

Wendy’s interests include sport (particulary football), theatre, reading, gardening, walking, cycling, watching films and visiting the cinema.

Family

Wendy lives with her husband and twin boys (aged 7).  Wendy also runs a “Holiday Let” company with her husband. The whole family enjoy watching football matches and trying a wide range of new cultural experiences.

Home

Wendy and Micheal live a spacious detached home in the town of Stratford-upon-Avon.  It is a 5 bedroom house with 2 bedrooms available, each with their own bathrooms.  The house is just a short walk (5 minutes) to the town centre close to excellent transport links and amenities.

Wendy has no pets in her home.

Location

Stratford upon Avon is just 45 minutes away from Birmingham by train and London can be reached in just under 2 hours by train.  Warwick and Leamington Spa are just a short distance away and accessible by public transport.

Wendy draws on her experience of teaching individuals and larger groups to develop an intensive tailor-made language course that focuses on the language areas that are most important to the student, such as speaking and listening, writing, grammar or examination practice.  In addition to one-to-one lessons with Wendy, students share in the daily life of Wendy and her family, engaging in a range of activities including meals and get-togethers with Wendy’s extended family, shopping, meeting friends and participating in family outings.  All these experiences involve invaluable exposure to everyday English as it is really spoken.
