Your Teacher
Cate is an experienced and qualified teacher who lives with her family near the City of Oxford. She is in her mid 30's and has two young sons who attend the local primary school. Cate is very friendly and enjoys welcoming students into her home. Cate lived and taught English in Japan and Italy before returning to the UK to raise her family. Before becoming a teacher Cate worked in Marketing and Advertising. Cate enjoys visiting historic houses and castles and is a member of the National Trust.
Qualifications
Cate has a degree in English Literature and has the CELTA qualification on teaching English as a Foreign Language.
Hobbies and interests
Cate's interest's include reading, yoga, skiing, learning about other cultures, cooking and organic farming.
Family
Her husband George works in IT and often works from home. George enjoys cooking, organic farming, science and engineering. Cate's two sons (born 2004 & 2006) enjoy, singing, football, cycling and helping on the adjacent farm. Cate's family live next door and run an Organic Farm where they grow vegetables, rear sheep and pigs and sell the produce at the local market on a Thursday.
Home
Cate and her husband George have built their home next to the family farm. Cate's home is a modern detached home with 4 bedrooms in a small village close to the city of Oxford. There is a good bus service into the centre of Oxford from the next village. There is a large garden for students to enjoy when the weather is nice. Cate's family run an organic farm and students that are interested are welcome to visit the farm during their stay.

Milton Common is a small village in Oxfordshire, just 16km from the centre of the City of Oxford. London is 1 hour away by train and the scenic towns of Henley-on-Thames are Marlow are nearby for visits and walks along the River Thames.

Cate draws on her wide experience to develop an intensive tailor-made language course that focuses on the langauge areas that are most important to you, such as speaking and listening, writing and grammar. This can be done at all levels- elementary, intermediate or advanced. She is also very willing to combine English language teaching with sightseeing or cultural tours of Oxford and the local area.
