Joanna D

Joanna is a qualified and experienced teacher of English and lives in a comfortable home in the town of Newhaven in the south east of England. Joanna has enjoyed a career in teaching English as a Foreign Language for over 13 years to students of many different nationalities, ages and levels.

Work experience and qualifications
Joanna has a degree in Linguistics with Social Anthropology. Following a career in the printing industry, Joanna returned to languages and trained as a teacher of English. Joanna worked for over 8 years as the principal of an English language school near Brighton. Whilst in full time teaching, Joanna took a further Diploma qualification in language teaching.

Teaching
Joanna specialises in teaching English one-to-one in her home. Joanna will create a total immersion course which combines one-to-one English language learning with a programme of local activities and excursions. Homelingua one-to-one English home tuition is a total immersion langauge programme.

Joanna will make a personalised one-to-one English learning course for you. For example, you may want to practise your speaking and listening skills, or you may want to work on pronunciation, writing or grammar. In addition to your lessons, there will be a lot of conversation practice during meal times. One-to-one homestay English lessons allow you to improve your English as quickly as possible.

Hobbies and interests
Joanna has a wide range of interests and hobbies, but her special interests are running to keep fit and amateur dramatics (theatre)

Family: Joanna is in her 40's and has a daughter who lives nearby and visits weekends.

Message from your teacher
I have been involved with teaching to international students for about 13 years. Before that I worked in the printing industry. I have a daughter who visits at weekends and we often go cycling and do adventure activities together. I also enjoy looking after my garden and keeping fit in the gym.
