Christine H

Christine is a qualified and experienced teacher of English. Christine specialises in one-to-one tuition at home and teaches General English, Business English and English for Examinations.

After a successful career in publishing and recruitment, Christine trained to become a teacher of English. Christine also took a University Degree in Modern Languages and European studies.

Christine has worked and lived in many countries during her professional career, including Zambia and Oman. She has also set up and managed her own boutique. Christine loves to travel and has visited India, Kashmir, Nepal, Africa, the Arabia Peninsula, Turkey, Australia, France and Italy. On one great adventure she drove overland from Oman to the UK via Iran, Tehran, Greece, Turkey and Yugoslavia. Christine's other interests are food, wine and enjoying the company of her friends.

Christine has a small and friendly dog.

Christine prepares an individual one-to-one homestay English course for each student, which focuses on practising the language areas they are most keen to develop. Whether students want to improve their speaking, listening, reading or writing skills, or to concentrate on business English, general conversation skills or cultural discussions, Christine  provides a series of intensive lessons which will maximise progress in those areas in the time available.

The Homelingua experience also has the great benefit of offering students total immersion in the English language during their stay, with plenty of opportunities for conversation practice and the use of everyday English outside lessons. Students find themselves joining in mealtime conversation, going on shopping trips and sharing social occasions in a very natural way. The combination of intensive one-to-one home tuition and extensive exposure to real spoken English enables students to make excellent progress in their English language and communication skills in the shortest possible time. It also offers a warm and in-depth experience of British culture and traditions.
