She then went on to qualify as a teacher of English as a foreign language and has worked in language schools in France and England ever since. Christine now focuses on one-to-one tuition in her home in the town of Stowmarket in the East of England. She has taught students of many different nationalities, ages and professions. Christine specialises in teaching a full range of Homelingua language courses including: General English courses for all ages, Examination Preparation and Business and Professional courses.
Christine lives in a comfortable and spacious house with her husband Patrick and teenage daughter (16). Christine also has 3 grown up daughters who live away from home. There is a garden at the rear of the house with a seating area where students can relax when the weather is nice.
The student's room in Christine's home is comfortable and well-furnished and provides a space where students can go for quiet and privacy at any time.
Christine's interests includes gardening, reading, playing the piano, travelling and always trying to improve her french. Christine also enjoys cooking and is happy to share this with students, and encourages students to cook a native dish during their stay.
The family has one fluffy and friendly cat.
Christine creates a personalised English language study course for each student, set at the correct level - elementary, intermediate or advanced - and clearly focused on the key areas chosen by the student. For example, one student may want intensive practice of speaking and listening skills, while another may wish to improve his or her grammar, pronunciation or writing skills. Christine's specially designed one to one home tuition sessions produce excellent results in whichever English language skills most need attention.
The Homelingua experience also has the great benefit of offering students total immersion in the English language during their stay, with plenty of opportunities for conversation practice and the use of everyday English outside lessons. Students find themselves joining in mealtime conversation, going on shopping trips and sharing social occasions in a very natural way. The combination of intensive one-to-one home tuition and extensive exposure to real spoken English enables students to make excellent progress in their English language and communication skills in the shortest possible time. It also offers a warm and in-depth experience of British culture and traditions.
