Your teacher

Barbara is an experienced teacher and has worked with students from ages eight to eighteen.  She and her husband live in the cathedral city of St Albans, just a twenty minute train journey from London. They are in their 50’s and are both dedicated to teaching.

Qualifications

Barbara is a qualified English language teacher. She has a BA in French and English and she has many years teaching experience.

Hobbies and interests 

Barbara likes to walk and often goes to the gym to keep fit. She is keen on going to the cinema and theatre and at home she enjoys cooking and tending to the large back garden. Her husband Jon is a sports fan and particularly enjoys the great British sport of cricket.

Your Teacher's home

Barbara and Jon live in a three bedroom, detached house in the old Roman city of St Albans. Jon is an English lecturer at Hertford University. Their son has left home and lives in the East End of London. The guest room is a large double room which has a computer for students to use. As well as both loving English language and literature, they share an interest in the theatre and in looking after their garden.
