Homelingua Young Learner course schedule

DayExample itinerary with 20 hours of tuition (12 hours of 1-1 English training and 8 hours of activity based language learning)

Our Homelingua Young Learner home tuition course is suitable for motivated young students age 11-17 years old. The student lives in the home of one of our carefully selected teachers who are experienced in hosting and teaching young students. The home tuition course is tailor-made by the teacher to meet the individual needs and interests of each student. The course provides total immersion in the English language because you live and learn in the home of your teacher.

Young Learner home tuition is more than just a language course. It provides a real and authentic experience of the English language and British culture and lifestyle. The teacher will strive to motivate the student and integrate them as much as possible into the day to day life of the family.

The following itinerary is a sample and the actual programme will be devised by each teacher individually depending on their location and your interests.

Sunday 

You are met at the airport by one of our experienced divers who will transfer you directly to the home of your teacher. After arriving to your teacher's home you can enjoy dinner and a relaxing evening with the family. You can use your teacher's computer to send an email to your parents.

Monday 

Morning: 09.00-12.00 English lessons
Lunch with your home teacher
Afternoon: Local orientation. Your teacher will take you to the nearest town where you can buy postcards and visit the shops. Write a postcard together with your teacher and send this home.

Tuesday 

 

Morning: 09.00-12.00 English lessons
Lunch with your home teacher
Afternoon: Home activity with your teacher such as cooking, meeting family friends and family or shopping.

Wednesday

 

Full day excursion with your teacher 

Thursday

Morning: 09.00-12.00 English lessons
Lunch with your home teacher
Afternoon: Personal study time for home work and writing your diary.
Evening: Cinema with your host family

Friday

Morning: 09.00-12.00 English lessons
Lunch with your home teacher
Afternoon: Local excursion with your teacher

Saturday

Full day excursion with your teacher and family

Sunday Home day with your teacher. Enjoy a traditional British Sunday lunch with your teacher and host family.

Lunch with your home teacher
Afternoon: Personal study time for home work and writing your diary.
Evening: Family activity such as bowling or sports
Tuesday Morning: 09.00-12.00 English lessons
Lunch with your home teacher
Afternoon: Home activity with your teacher such as cooking, meeting family friends and family or shopping.
Wednesday Full day excursion with your teacher

Morning: 09.00-12.00 English lessons
Lunch with your home teacher
Afternoon: Local excursion with your teacher

Friday

Morning: 09.00-12.00 English lessons
Lunch with your home teacher
Afternoon: Home activity with your teacher such as cooking, meeting family friends and family or shopping.
Evening: Farewell evening dinner with your teacher and family. Presentation of certificate.
 

Saturday

Goodbye to teacher and host family. Our driver will take you directly back to the airport. Students under the age of 15 can meet a Homelingua representative at the airport who will assist with check in.
