Karen is trained as a speech therapist and language teacher and lives with her family in the town of Maidstone in South East England.

Karen spent over 30 years workings as a 'speech therapist' before retraining as a teacher of English. This experience has given Karen a deep understanding and interest in language acquisition and learning. Karen has taught one-to-one to students of different nationalities and levels and enjoys working and teaching from home.

Your Teacher's home

Your teacher's home is a large, spacious detached house with 4 bedrooms. It is in the small village of Boxley (a pub, a church, a few houses) which is close to the town of Maidstone and just one hour from London, but surrounded by beautiful countryside. The student's bedroom is nicely furnished with space for your own study and comfort and your own private staircase. There is a large garden including a field with a 400m running track.

Your teacher lives near the town of Maidstone in Kent in the South east of England. Maidstone is one hour from London by direct train and by car, 45 minutes from Gatwick airport and 1 hour 15 minutes from Heathrow airport. There are many places to visit in the area including Canterbury (30minutes),Tunbridge Wells and the South Coast and many Castles including the famous Leeds Castle.

Train: Maidstone. There are direct train services between Maidstone and London Victoria or Cannon street stations. Journey time is 1 hour. Eurostar: Ebbsfleet and Ashford stations. Journey time is 30 minutes by car.
