Our teachers are at the heart of our organisation and the secret behind a successful one-to-one language course is matching you with the most suitable teacher. You can browse a selection of our teachers online, but these profiles only give you a glimpse of each teacher and we have many more who are not on our website.
When you are applying for your course we ask questions about your language level, but also about your interests, preferences and study objectives. We then try and match you with the most suitable teacher.
Teachers offering home tuition are interviewed by an experienced member of the Homelingua team, and accommodation is inspected to make sure that it meets our high standards. Teachers are given continual support from Homelingua academic staff. Teachers have access to a range of teaching materials and resources and are advised on study materials suitable for your course.
When choosing your course, it is important that you have some flexibility over your choice of location. After many years experience of home tuition, we firmly believe that, in most cases, finding the most suitable teacher is far more important than the location of your teacher. Giving us a choice of location means that we have a wider range of teachers to choose from.
We have teachers in many locations across the UK. Some are in popular cities such as Bath, Oxford and Cheltenham. We also have many teachers in smaller towns and cities across the UK, with easy access to the main London airports as well as regional airports such as Birmingham, Bristol and East Midlands.

This means that many of our teachers are able to bring a great wealth of experience and knowledge to their teaching. Except in exceptional circumstances, all teachers will have taken at least a CELTA qualification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language before joining the Homelingua team. We have teachers who are experienced in exam preparation, especially in CAE, FCE, IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC and BEC.
