Christmas and New Year English Homestay

The Homelingua Christmas and New Year course is an opportunity to live and learn English in the home of your teacher during the festive Christmas and New Year holiday period. The course combines 1-1 English language learning with an experience of British culture and lifestyle.

The course is aimed at students who want to combine 1-1 English language learning with an experience of a traditional British Christmas and New Year. You live in the home of your teacher and are fully involved in the Christmas preparations and Christmas Day. You have 16 hours of one-to-one English learning with your teacher with lessons tailor-made to meet you personal study needs. The course offers total immersion in the language both during and outside of lessons times.

  • Help decorate the Christmas tree
  • Make traditional mince pies and other Christmas foods
  • Visit to a Christmas market
  • Wrap Christmas presents
  • Enjoy Christmas dinner of turkey, stuffing and Christmas pudding
  • Sing Christmas carols at a carol service
  • Write and send a Christmas card
  • English lessons which focus on learning about British Christmas traditions
  • Fill a Christmas stocking
  • Watch the Queen's speech on television and a Christmas film
  • New Year's Eve party

Fees include expenses incurred during activity-based learning with the teacher. A supplement may be required if the student has specific requests for activities and excursions

**Airport meeting service fee includes the first 2 hours of waiting time. Additional waiting time charged at £20.00 per hour. This is required for students under 14 and may be required for older junior students depending on airline regulations and other reasons.
