Make the most of your English Homestay

Mike is one of our experienced English Homestay teachers who lives near London. I asked Mike last week what he likes to do with his students. He said he often takes his students to Weybridge, where you can visit the famous Brooklands Museum. The museum shows exhibits from motoring and aviation history, including enormous racing cars and even a Concorde plane.

Mike says the museum is 'typical of the English love of antiquity' and the British volunteer/amateur spirit. He told me that in his opinion understanding culture is important when learning a language. Next to Brooklands is the hyper-modern Mercedes-Benz World, where you can see the latest Mercedes cars. Mike says listening to the 'sales patter' in the showroom is interesting for his more advanced students.
