How to celebrate the 2012 Olympic Games

Is your English Homestay between the 27 July and the 9 September 2012? If so you will be in England whilst the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games are being held in London. The whole of England will be celebrating, if you don’t have tickets there are still plenty of ways to join in.

Throw an Olympic themed party: the whole of England is going to be in the party mood so why not hold a party with your host family. You could even hold your own mini Olympic Games in the garden, dress up as your favourite Olympic athletes or decorate the house with Olympic themed decorations.

Get a close up look of the medals: there is a free display on at the British Museum in London, Mine to Medals, it tells the story of the production of the medals for London 2012. This is a unique opportunity to see the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic medals. The exhibition is on now until the 9 September 2012

Watch on the big screen: there will be big screens set up in various city centres across the UK. There will definitely be a good atmosphere around these screens for the big events. It is a great way to enjoy the Olympic Games for free. Check out a list of cities that will have Live Sites.

Join the London 2012 Festival: The London 2012 festival has been set up to celebrate the Olympics coming to London. 332 events are and will be happening across the whole of the UK including dance, music, theatre and fashion events. There is something for everyone.
